I bought a jar of this the last time I was in Tescos, and now I can't find a recipe to use it in -- any suggestions?
I was hoping for something gooey and chocolatey :D

i think it's used to make a dessert called mont blanc with meringues and cream i think - i've seen it in a nigella book maybe - possibly How To Be a Domestic Goddess or failing that Feast, but I think it's a (kind of) well known dessert, not one of her inventions.

 please could you look up the recipe sometime (or if someone else on here has it) -- that sounds just right; I have too many eggs at the moment and was vaguely thinking about making meringues

 Will do, thanks again!! My husband's off to England tomorrow so I thought I'd make myself a bit of a treat in the week (he just inhales stuff like that and then it's all gone :( )

We don't put any meringue in this pudding and it's very commonly made. I don't use recipe, just dilute chestnut puree with rich cream till very vaguely brown and sweeten, all that done to taste, refrigerate and when solid-ish grate. (into small bowls), cover with sweetened whipped cream.(Equal amounts almost)
If really feeling devilish, drizzle with rum flavoured chocolate sauce and sprinkle with grated/chopped nuts.
Whatever you do, make sure the goods are not salted as usually they are here for stuffing! 8)

I have just checked the jar - it is 60% sugar  (that's my kind of food!!)
So it's definately for desserts and not for stuffing.

It was in Tescos, if they have it in the one in Killarney then you probably could get it in your local one (if you have one) - it's ''Tesco Seasons'' so maybe they don't have it all the time? (I only get to go to Tesco once in a blue moon)
