To shade or not to shade.
« on: August 11, 2021, 13:13 »
I put some of that brush-on white shading stuff on my greenhouse to help keeps temps down. Does it affect my toms ripening and, if so, should I wipe it off?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I never use that white wash [white shading stuff] always use a shade netting over the greenhouses and poly tunnel although it takes a little time to put it on the outside but with a few not to mention words it really works and it looks much better than that white paint

and its much easier to remove when the weather gets cooler I fold it up and store it till its needed the next year it mite be a bit more costly than the white splosh but as long as your careful handling the netting it will last you for some years

I've taken off our greenhouse shading (debris netting), as the toms need all the light they can get from now onwards.

There doesn't seem to be much heat aywhere either, so I'd wash it all off Goosey, and think of England!

Thanks Growster. I'll get out my old extending floor mop and rub as much off as I can. I don't think I'll bother using that stuff again as it looks so unsightly and as if an extremely large pterodactyl has poo-ed all over it.  ::)

I normally do one side of my with bottom GH with nixol but it's been so dull this year there's been no point. Wash it of GG and let as much light as you can get the toms to ripen them asap.

Did it yesterday afternoon, and I won't be using that paint on stuff again unless I am going to a fancy dress party looking like a clown with white make-up on!
