Hi all,
So I recently managed to purchase a non runner for cheap, a quick cleanup of the carb and oil change then it fired up first time and worked great. I was very please with my self.
But! When using it the other day I managed to hit a large tree root and the moment this happened the engine died. When trying to restart it had little to no compression and the flywheel span easily.
After some time in the garage ive found a snapped intake valve, everything else seems fine. Piston moves as it should, as do the rocker arms/rods, crank seems fine from both ends. Ive had the head off but not split the crankcase.
Now for my troubles, ive now found out that its a Chinese one and getting hold of parts is difficult!
Its a Maxtra ML-GR007A. ive manage to find out that the engine is made by Zongshen with a model number 1P61F. It also looks to be used by Loncin for a few of their models.
I cant seem to find a replacement valve anywhere. I was wondering if anyone here new of any suppliers I could try? I also image that like most of these things the engine is likely to be a clone of something else so if anyone is able to recognise it please let me know.
Thank you.
