100% no show on carrots.

Hello everyone,
 I sowed a whole packet of Early Nantes just before going away to a fantastic quiet holiday on Sifnos.  Came back expecting to do some thinning, well, that's a job saved!!

The greenhouse was overrun with weeds, I collected three buckets full (compressed).

had best ever results sowing nantes in july  after failed strawberries couple of years ago now we sow much later they germinate much better and seem to catch up in the warmer soil [think the early types maturing quicker helps in the timing]  good luck

I usually do well with carrots. Waited until 16th May so it was warm enough this year.
Complete no shows on 2 varieties of carrot and parsnips in same bed.
I am putting it down to slugs or snails.
Quite cross as I sowed all the Red Elephant seed I got from the Heritage Seed Library.  It is my favourite carrot and I cannot replace this year.
Will buy some more seed and have another go.

Oxhella are a great stumpy maincrop you can sow now. Autumn king are always reliable too
