Title: dianthus problem

Wonder if anyone has had this problem I have a dianthus Mrs Sinskins flowered prolific last year, however this year the buds are turning brown before blooming and dying off

we have had no problems here with ours we have 3 different lots all grown from seed from Singapore and all are flowering abundantly in fact we a very pleased all round with our various flower displays , I do hope you end up with some as they are a beautiful fragrant flower .

So do I they were fantastic last year will have to try and take some cuttings for next year, may have been the cold damp start we had also had problems with Madonna Lilly too

have you got an ant's nest nearby? they sometimes ruin the flowers to eat the nectar - leaving the bud empty, or with dead petals inside

Thanks mumofstig never thought of that have not noticed any will take a closer look now
