I rang the vet today, he said no change.  I am going to the refuge to clean tomorrow and then I will head off to the vets to check on Laura.

Sad news, Laura the pup did not make it,she died this morning, it was a blessing really, she was not a well dog.  At least the decision was taken out of our hands. I had said to the vet if she were no better by Friday she would be put to sleep as she was suffering.
We tried our best, but sadly it was not to be.  At least she knew some love before she died.
What I would like to do to the person who abandoned her and her siblings new-born at the refuge is not printable.

So sorry Pamela.  I am sure your love and caring for Laura was appreciated and made her short life more bearable.  She is in a safe place now and will have lots of friends to keep her company.  Sending you big hugs.

Laura cuddled up to Charlie our great lump of a Labrador.  He came from the refuge too.  Laura´s adopted mum at the refuge was a lab type, think of a Lab, with very short dumpy legs (even shorter than mine  ) and a longish body (not like mine) and that was her adopted mum, so maybe that is why Laura went straight up to Charlie for a cuddle.

PS  I always say the kindest gift you can give to your pet is the ability to say ´the time has come´when they are very ill.  Tomorrow would have been Laura´s time had she not improved at all

Oh dear, I'm so sorry the pup didn't make it but distemper is a horrible thing and is there any way back once the pup has it?
