Agapanthus advice please

I put my two containers in the garage for winter, I think I may have watered them once.   What do I do next and when, thank you,  Mrs Bouquet

Thanks for the info.  I think I may have to empty one pot because celandine is growing in it. between the bulbs and I cannot get them out, so I am thinking of emptying it and starting with fresh soil.   How deep should plant them, not very I am guessing.     Thanks again,  Mrs B

Hello if you tidy them up by removing the dead leaves wear rubber gloves and  an old apron  as they weap sticky slime, and it takes some removing especially off clothes,dont device unless they've burst the pot ,I usually go round the root ball and the bottom of the plant with an old carving knife and cut 1 inch of roots away then use the same pot and replace cut away roots with John Innes number 3 soil based compost    jezza
