I went on an eglu course a few years ago near Mansfield, it is nice to get hands on experience of wing clipping, etc, there is a list of courses here on the poultry pages as well as the Omlet website. Ideally rather than just the web you need to read lots of books, visit people who have different birds and set ups, find a local vets that will treat chickens (mine are all registered with a vet and since I first started going there they have increased their chicken vets from 1 to 3) and then study what type of coup and run sizes you will need.
Staffies are softer than you think.

hi min200 ill bear that in mind!

im ok handling them etc its just other things like knowing when to take them off crumbs and when to put them onto layers mash and pellets.

i let them out last night for the first time and after about half an hour they were snuggling close together and going to sleep!!

so i rounded them up hoping they would go back into there coop but no!

i had to catch them and the last one out manuvered me and got into next doors garden!
but after 10 mins of running round like a headless chicken and getting wet through i cought her!

they come off chick crumb at about 6 weeks and then go onto rearers until about 16 weeks which is when they go onto layers. You either feed them layers pellets or mash  :)
