I'm poach/scramble - hybrid!

thats quite funny and it's got me completely wrong (well i think so anyway)
funny though i never eat them boiled. Does that make me organised?, better go and tell my hubby. He's in for a surprise :nowink:
-
i'm all mixed up then I like them all, no just a vegetarian
-
I just like eggs too, any way! So what does that make me????
-
OH has his every which way.
So what does it say about him.
I say he has always been a funny beggar. :D
-
We have had the same breakfast for years, with slight variation but always eggs.
OH has 2 fried eggs with 4 sheets of toast Monday to Saturday and scrambled on Sundays. I have a 2 egg omelet with baked beans. That keeps us going until lunch without snacking mid morning. Cereals just dont work the same ::)
-
Mrs Ball :D
There wasn't a 'funny beggar' category in the survey!
-
The best way to eat an egg? Coddled!
-
I think if you have your eggs every which way it means that you are a well balanced person. Of course I would say that as that is how I like my eggs!!! ::)
-
Its easier to list the ways I don't like my eggs: eggs benedict. :nowink:
-
Pickled eggs are nice in a packet of ready salted crisps. Does that make me some sort of deviant?
-
I like mine all ways, but favourite is omelette......self disciplined (tosh!) and boiled....disorganised....also tosh! Organised chaos it is.
-
Mrs Ball :D
There wasn't a 'funny beggar' category in the survey!
I am not surprised.
You couldn't find a catagory for my OH. Funny beggar was the polite version. ::)
I don't actually like the taste of eggs at all. Wonder what that says about me.
-
I don't eat eggs either!
I defo think the fried egg sandwich is the working man's treat and my last OH (omelette eater) kept the most (too) perfect allotment.
-
Thank goodness nobody has mentioned a Prairie Oyster so far...
http://www.esquire.com/drinks/prairie-oyster-drink-recipe
I just did...
-
Oh yuk! I think that's a case of -' if its revolting it must be good for you' philosophy...
The Japanese make lovely eggy things - gently beaten with some sugar then fried a bit at a time in thin layers then folded in pan to build layers and cut up to look like eggy mille feuille and eaten with a bit of soy sauce. Tasty!
-
Oh dear... I like mine boiled, poached, fried or scrambled... Does anyone have any advice on how to cope with a split personality?!!
-
my favourite way is poached (yes I am out going and love music with a beat - rock and roll, rockabilly and the Rolling Stones) so it sums me up perfectly, however I am also very disorganised which is why I have just boiled a dozen eggs to make my pickled eggs :D
-
We've never actually tried them this way, but just might...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shirred_eggs
-
how about hard boiled sliced and layered with sweated leeks covered with a bubbling cheese sauce. yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum
-
Well i used to love eggs boiled, fried ,scrambled or pickled but sadly unable to eat them anymore as i,ve become allergic to them :(..
-

That sounds good - ideal for a comfort eating friday ... Toast soldiers to go with?

Have you tried that before growster? I've eaten raw eggs in smoothies and cracked them into Carbonara but I've never shot a raw one. I guess it would be texture that is most off-putting, like oysters.
-
I actually meant that I'd 'mentioned' it Damoot, not tried one...
In fact, just to bore you, there is a way to eat oysters which I tried, and they really ain't half bad at all...
You take just one bite before you swallow the thing whole, and believe me, they are pretty damn moreish after that!
-
Oysters are lovely, raw or cooked. :D
Eggs, usually scrambled (check) or omelette/frittata and I wouldn't call us particularly tidy.... :nowink:
-
fried.
young- ish.
male. not when i last looked.
working class - i dont do classes - all equal.
-
boiled, poached, omlette, scrambled, fried and most of all in cakes............ :D
-
Oh I just adore oysters but have developed an allergy to them thanks to my mother
She bought me some back from Norfolk as a treat after her summer holiday
In a cold box with ice blocks???
No on the parcel shelf of her car
I have never been so ill. When I pointed this out to her and inquired as to the method of transport for the said oysters she said they were wrapped in plenty of newspaper on the parcel shelf:wacko:
She could have killed me and has left me with an allergy to the most wonderful seafood going. :( >:(
And I like eating my eggs as mayonaise and quiches wonder what catagory that puts me in ???

Oh Mrs B - emotional baggage!
WildW - speaking of social class - when they visit my customers opt for earl grey tea and but mega posh ones all prefer PG tips!
Speaking of posh food, scrambled eggs are very nice with spring onion and smoked salmon mixed in. Had it as a starter once and now its a treat spead onto toast. Spead a bit and bite - keeps the toast nice and crisp!

What does that make me? I love earl grey and lady grey tea, normal tea leaves a strong taste in my mouth which I don't like. I do like some blends of Yorkshire tea but not very strong and a dash of milk.
-
It makes you a lady of taste me dear. :)
-
We always have a bottle of Cava, Bagals, spring onions and smoked salmon mixed into scrambled eggs for breakfast on 'that special morning' (how long can the mods keep up ignoring that 'that' day needs planning for?) :D :D

Marvellous way to celebrate Xmonius Wighty!
Can't think why we never did either!

Un oeuf, un oeuf of all of these yolks!

Ooooo, Wighty are you posh too like my little sister. :D
We have coffee, stollen, or Dutch (banned word) ring.
Agree about the planning, leave it too late and it comes up and bites you on the derriere, and you end up more frazzled than overcooked roasties.

I hate earl grey tea, it tastes/smells like purfume. Not that ive drunk it like.
Nice cup of builders tea in a mug. That'll do. With a fried egg.

The festival we have late December ;)
Its a forum tradition that you are not allowed to mention the dreaded word on here before December or the mods get twitchy and eventually send you to the norty step if you keep transgressing ....... or even worse Auntie's cellar  Hence references to special days, mid winter festivals and winterval so we can all plead innocence
Fix quote heading
-
Thank you for explaining that on my behalf New Shoot. That 'Special Day' could also be interpreted as your birthday 'cos surely that's a 'special day' as well (or should be). :D
-

- Thank you for advising me (I don't know how to do the quote thing) The mind was boggling!
-
What goes on in Auntie's cellar?
I may need to know, before I get too old and decrepit...?
-

I used to think that but it tastes more citrus really and is a refreshing tea. Lady Grey is similar and I think has even more citrus tones. I suppose it is an acquired taste and possibly for a more mature/older palate.

;0)
I wish I had a cellar like that...
-
Was that before she put all the wine back in....?
-

Ha ha ha, Nerdle - you wouldn't believe what we'd be putting in our cellar - if we had one...!
Mrs G and I are planning the next brew, and we really want to do something special for Xmonius, so we're looking at some of these Turbo yeasts for spirits, and then we can scare the living daylights out of the carol singers...
(The Calvados is settling nicely as we speak...)!
-
ooohh and Hawkshurst isn't that far.....!
-
(how long can the mods keep up ignoring that 'that' day needs planning for?) :D :D
As long as it takes wighty, as long as it takes..........
-
That cellar takes me back to good old Matthew Hopkins and his silly scaremongering of the 16th century. God, my legs are aching at just the mere thought of that rack again.
So glad the 21st century is more enlightened.

So we're on midnight on the 24th December again for the sign off on winterval antics then Ice ;)
How do I say AAAAAAAAAARGHHHHH in several different languages...
I believe aaaarrrrghhhhhhhhhh is like SOS - a universally understand signal for legs don't fail me now, I need to run away
-
ooohh and Hawkshurst isn't that far.....!
Easy run, Nerdle!
Isn't there a great wine/eatery bar on a corner in the middle of Romsey? (Well described that wasn't it...)
I seem to remember a long lunch there several years ago and never looking back, nor forward for that matter...;0)

Yes Growster - posh Romsey well equipped - Scats (dog&'en stuff) Waitrose (salads) Aldi (tins of tuna) lots of restaurants (too stingy to go often) and (heaven of heavens) a disproportionate number of charity shops (for a little town) full of good stuff!
-
Very attractive town is Romsey!
What was the television detective prog filmed there several years ago?
-
Yes - before my time here - Wexford I think. :)
-
Thanks, Nerdle - I can rest easy now...;0)
