Hat for peeps with ponytails
« on: November 07, 2011, 13:38 »
When i'm working outside in the winter i need a close fitting hat that wont come off in the wind. :)
If you wear your hair in a ponytail you'll know that in a beenie hat it looks as of you have  a big growth on your head under the hat
So i thought of this :) You just need a pair of old fleecy jogging bottoms.  If they have a cuffed bottom you dont need anything else.  If they have a straight bottom like mine you need a bit of elastic but i took that from the waist band. :)
Hope the pictures explains it ok  :)

Cut off the leg fairly high up, you can shorten later if you need to.

If you have a straight bottom hem make one or two holes on the inside, thread elastic through, pull as tight as you think you want it and tie.

Turn the top of the leg into the bottom part then turn back the brim.

Try it on and pull your ponytail through :)

I made these next two with the fleece on the outside  and did the top a little differently but it was still very easy :)

I like this one the best

Great idea, when will we see you on Dragons Den?   :D  I usually wear a cap and thread my ponytail through the hole above the adjustable band.

What a wonderful idea - have you thought of marketing it? Be good for walking to work in the snow and not having to re-do my hair when I get there!! Tho I have to admit Mr Raven (who has a ponytail) was a bit concerned I was going to get him one!!
