A photo will be coming later today.  We have a lab ´on trial´ here, he is so timid, he is terrified of a collar and chain, I think he has been tethered all the time, and as for anything like a stick- well he hits the floor and lays as flat as he can!  Jumbo is coming around, Lola snaps a bit, she will be ok though, Miki (cat) looks but ignores and Mili (cat) chases him!  
Off to buy a collar to try to train him to wear it, will buy a soft one and a  webbing type lead, nothing that looks like a chain!

Poor boy ...... it can take a long time to regain their confidence but will be so rewarding for you.

Labs are lovely. Bessie is now full of happiness and completely confident; so much so that she is self appointed guard dog and protector.

This is dog with no name at the refugio- we bought the new soft collar- it is too big, so will take it back tomorrow.  Mili has called a truce, she went right up to him- to eat his food  

Jim started to sweep the patio, dog with no name all but wet himself with fright.

he is gorgeous, we also had a dog that had been ill treated by a brush - it took him quite a long time to get over that.

My sister has dragged him into the house- it is far too hot outside for him, it was hard work, she was shoving his behind , his front feet were in the locked position   The dogs water bowl is outside- we don´t  want to move him to get outside so he has the washing up bowl instead.  Mili is annoyed, Miki is laying right by him.  Mili was bought up with our two from 3 days old, you would think she would be used to dogs!  We are having to flick water on her!

Aw, what a sad looking fellow. He must have really been mistreated to sit in a corner like that. Labs are normally such friendly, slobbery creatures. Some patience and gentle words will definitely bring him around but it'll take time. I suspect that I would have brought him home as well.

Sounds like he wasn't allowed in the house before.  He will think he is being naughty and will be punished.   

I hope that he settles down with you and his new family.

Lots of Spanish dogs are only ´outside´ dogs, when I see the amount of fur we sweep up I can understand why! 



This is the animals after we managed to drag dog with no name in, my sister sat with him trying to get his confidence.

Awww he's lovely Pamela.  I'm sure he will soon get used to you.  Penny was quite timid when we first got her, but nearly 10 years later, well, she is still a little timid if I tell her she's been a naughty girl!! lol,  but she is the best dog ever!!!

Everyone looks very hot in the last photo, perhaps why there's so much fur on the floors.

The dog with no name is no longer the dog with no name, he is Charlie    He is sitting behind me by the wall,  his favourite place hugging the wall.
We had to bathe him, he was so smelly   he is still smelly but not quite so smelly 
He is beginning to get a bit less nervous, but as soon as any fast movement made it is back to the wall!
He will sleep outside on the patio- Jumbo and Lola have a big kennel- there will be no room for him in there, we will have to get a new one.  He barked at the noise the neighbours peacock made- he has a deep bark.
