Hello Angie,
It sometimes takes time for the egg production system in a hen to synchronise itself and you can often get odd shapes or softies at the beginning of laying.  Give it time and she should settle down.
Just make sure she doesn't have one burst inside her.  Laying sofites can make hens feel very under the weather and if one bursts inside her she could get egg yolk peritonitis.  That does not have a good prognosis.
If she seems quiet and subdued try sitting her in a bath of warm water.  This will relax her and may help her expell anything that is stuck inside.  When you take her out you can blow dry her on a warm (not hot) setting.
Good Luck and keep us posted

I think Aunt Sally recommends a little something to help them absorb the calcium from the oyster shell, think it was olive oil  Do a search for soft egg shell and check out her replies. She's very good  :D

Vitamin D helps calcium to be absorbed (this applies to humans as well as chickens).  It can be produced directly by exposing the skin to natural daylight or can be given as a supplement.

I always give mine a little calcium on half a grape and this helps them to boost calcium levels.

Thats if you can work out which one is laying the softie as it can be harmful to the others if they dont need it.
