Just a quick question as I'm thinking of getting someone to make me a new chicken coop, this may sound odd but I have some school toilet cubicles (don't ask why or how) but was thinking as they are totally washable and very thick sort of plastic coated could they be used as the walls and floor of the coop? Or would they create too much condensation ?

It would be a great way of recycling if you could use them. I think the only way to find out if they are any good is to try.

Could the condensation risk be mitigated by good ventilation? :)

That's what I was thinking. Do you think it would be enough ventilation if I used that corrugated bitumin bord and just covered the gaps with chicken wire or something?

Will you be cutting the panels? If so you will probably find that they are made of compressed chipboard. This will be a problem for redmite and for the damp getting in and being soaked up by the chipboard. If you are using the whole board you should be alright.

seal any cut edges with silicon sealant to stop the water getting in, use corrugated roofing for ventilation, should be fine

I'm building mine right now.
It was really useful to find that I could buy roosting bars for the Eglu classic (£20) and an A3 plastic tray from Staples sits underneath the bars to collect the poo.
