Chicks and itching!
« on: October 01, 2012, 18:47 »
We still have our 2 chicks living indoors, they are 7 weeks old now (i cant put them in the garage as i keep my car in there and the shed isnt big enough) i am hoping to get them in the outside coop within the next two weeks.
My question is, as they are quite dusty critters has anyone experienced itching as a result of having them indoors?
Both my hubby and myself have just started itching like mad over the last few days, dogs have been frontlined a few weeks back so are flea free! just wondered if it could be from my fluffy friends.
Gained an allotment on the 19th June 08, 135ft by 40ft! eekk. Finally after 4 years it is looking like an allotment and not a jungle

We have 5 lovely hens in the garden, fish, 2 dogs and 2 canaries

I'd be surprised if it's the chicks making you itch.  The dust is dander which if anything might cause breathing problems rather than itching.  Hope you find the cause.

Have you changed your washing powder/liquid or fabric conditioner recently, or soap, showergel, shampoo etc?  My aunty bought the blue comfort instead of her normal white one recently.  The result was that my Uncle was covered all over his back in a red nasty itchy rash.  It doesn't take a lot to unbalance the human body.  Hope you find out the cause.
