Title: Too early for final planting place for cues in a greenhouse?

With the sunshine and warmth of late, the greenhouse cues have come on leaps and bounds. Is it too soon to put them into their final place in the soil in the greenhouse? At the moment I cover them in fleece if a coldish night is forecast and bring them into the house if there is to be a frost (I don't have a heated greenhouse).

only 6C in my greenhouse last night - so still too cold here  :dry:

I've done mine but am fleecing them. Well I'm supposed to be fleecing them but I didn't bother last night
You have to keep an eye on the forecast and get ready with the fleece if frost is forecast. 

Don't overwater them whatever you do, they really don't like it.   Cues in the greenhouse are needy and you have to dance attendance on them a bit I find  :D

what variety are you growing CQ cos some varieties say on the packet to keep at a minimum of 16C  :ohmy:

I think it's hard enough aiming for 10  :nowink:

I've done Cucino and a packet just labelled "cornichon"    I've fleeced half of them this evening but had no fleece left for the rest. Fingers crossed

I've got crystal lemon and picolino as well as a few Marketmore.
It will be tricky to fleece them when they are in their final place so will hold off for a bit. I'm keeping a more detailed (electronic) diary of when I do things this year so will be better informed next year, but then the weather will no doubt be different again.

Marketmore are a "ridge" or outdoor variety. Unlike indoor ones, you need to leave the male flowers on for pollination.

If you grow the two sorts together you could get pollination issues with the greenhouse varieties that affects the taste of the fruits.

Thanks for pointing that out DD, I had forgotten that the Marketmore were destined to be grown outside at the lottie.

Marketmore does well outside.  Oooh more lovely cues

Ta for that advice DD. I'd not thought about that. I shall just have to wait and see what transpires.  The cornichons already have flowers  :)
