Firstly I was wondering why my peach habanero chili plants are not as large as the cayenne plants (that were germinated at the same time).



(small habs left etc)

Secondly, since I put the plants in their plastic greenhouse, I have noticed that something has nibbled at some of the chili leaves (and some tomato). I naively thought that due to them being undercover, that would rule this problem out, furthermore I have never seen a slug or any other critter in there so I am stumped to where they are coming fom or how they are getting in there?!  :roll:  :?

Lastly, how do I know when my chilies are ripe and ready to pick?

Different size, growth rate and germ time by variety.

They can get in through any tiny opening, from underground, etc.

Most ripen to a different colour, but peppers and chiles can be eaten 'green', too.

No idea but a blooming catepillar was in mine!  :evil: not impressed they eaten most of chillis in one night (just looked at them now) and some of my tomatoes grrr

Its either cats, slugs or caterpillar!

Arr yes it could be a catterpillar and I know that the green ones are difficult to spot. What can I do to repel them?  :twisted:
