Hi all, just wondering what i could be sowing in the green house now?
Or do i just follow the instuctions on the pack?
p.s im new to this and im sure im gonna be askin more silly questions.

I've planted stuff like mizuna and pak choi, they don't mind the short days apparently. I've got some lambs lettuce to sow as well.
Some books say sow aubergines in January but you'd have to germinate them inside the house. I'll probably have a go anyway but will no doubt end up re-sowing them later!
I was going to do some spuds in a bucket later and I have germinated some Parmex carrots in a pot because I had some spare seed.
I just hope the greenhouse doesn't blow away!

Cheers noshed, i only asked cos this chap down our site has loads of stuff on the go in his green house,but i have noticed that it all looks week n skinny, he has even got wait for it: tom's on the go. :?
surley a bit of good weather and the cabbage and like are gonna bolt. :?:

Plants are far happier IMO going into warm, prepared soil and growing quickly and steadily without a check. For that reason, I wait until the soil has started to warm up so that the seeds can germinate and be strong enough to resist predators. I took over this plot in May 2004, and started planting/sowing everything then. Although some harvests were late, it was a real education - beans flew out of the ground, spuds planted in June were harvested in November.

Some veg - like stump rooted carrot and baby beet - you can get going now, and transplant into the g'house for early crops. Others that need a long growing season, or take forever to germinate - parsley, aubergines and peppers - can be started in February. Around the middle of March is when seed sowing starts to happen in earnest, and I wouldn't expect to plant much out, or sow outdoors, until early April.

You gain very little 'time to harvest' by rushing the poor little things, though there seems to  be a lot of kudos attached to early sowing and planting on the plot!

Try to sit on your hands for a little longer ... patience is the gardener's friend :D

I put some tomatoes in at the end of September  ish, to see if they grew for New Year, and they are in my bubble wrapped greenhouse, but they are still only about 4inches high!!!!
