One of our girls isn't well.
« on: April 10, 2009, 16:35 »
Today I noticed that one of our hens isn't quiet herself she didn't come belting up the garden when I dished out some rice which is most unusual and now she is stood in the run not looking too well.

She has laid this morning and I saw her have a poo so went to inspect it and it was dark green like duck poo (I think) it wasn't runny but soft and slightly jellified if that makes sense.

I can't see any poo samples like it so I don't really know what’s going on.

Any advice please?

It could be a few things from gut infection, to worms.  Have you flubenveted your chooks recently ?

All our girls were wormed 3 wks ago with Flubenvet. I think your right about it being the gut AS so I have started giving her Tylan ....................and hope she is a little better tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice and I will keep you posted.
