Title: Only 1 problem with demijons
Post by: grinling on June 04, 2019, 19:35
I hate cleaning them as the brush is rubbish....Racked 5 and bottled up a further 10.

5 or 2 gallon lidded buckets is the way forward. Lift the lip of the lid all the way round and plonk (pun intended) the lid on top - the escaping gasses will lift the lid just enough to escape but prevent nasties getting in.

When cleaning demijons I hammer closed the ring on a large homebrew bottle brush, add warm water and a tiny smidge of washing up liquid to the demijon, pop the 'handle' into a battery drill and awayyyy you go.  You can bend the brush for good contact with the insides, then it's just a case of getting rid of the froth!

Cheers,   Tony.
