I think the series 3 had a Villiers side valve four stroke engine so would probably have a Villiers carb. For Monro parts, forum member landie57 is the man to contact as he is, or was, Monro specialist for the VHGMC.

Come on all you Monro experts, my only experience with them was selling one for a neighbour. Villiers seem to have used a couple of different carbs on the side valve engines, one looked like the type they fitted to motorcycles with a choke incorporated into the air filter, but later machines had an up-draught carb with a red plastic filter unit. A couple of these are on eBay at the moment.
I do know more about 6 x 3.00 pneumatic tyres as they were used on 12” Merry Tiller wheels. There are plenty of these wheels about but they make good money. If nobody has an old stock 6 x 3.00 tyre about, 6 x 3.50 tyres are available off the shelf and, if you need two of them, I would go for this size. Old George Monro didn’t just sell rotovators apparently, take a look at this

I have manuals for all models of Monro Tiller and associated Villiers engines, Mk10,12 and 15. I also have a few second hand parts. For link to my website look at the VHGMC website links page.
