hi, im not sure if im posting this in the correct place, but ive been offered a green house for free but most of the glass pannels have been broken, how much would it cost to re glaze a green house and where would i get the glass from? i dont want to spend a day taking it down to find out it would be cheaper to buy a new one.

Firstly, you need to locate a local glass supplier. Greenhouse glass panes are usually 600mm x 600mm (2 feet x 2 feet). But of course you will be required to purchase other sizes. The glass is supplied has "Greenhouse Glass". Each pane here locally is £4-£5. So you need to make a few calculations to discover which is the cheapest option. Taking into account the costs from your local glass supplier.

I managed to get two loads of greenhouse glass off Freegle - about 2/3 of a 12's worth...

OR you could look at twinwall polycarb - not cheap but it has its advantages

I've moved in the past year and inherited two rather delapidated greenhouses.  I was out walking the dog when I spied a glass place.  They're coming Thursday morning to give me a quote for glass and hopefully will fit it for me.  I'll let you know what price I get. My panes are generally 2 x 2 but there are some other sizes for the door, and some triangular bits
