Today I knocked up something for the trio of quail that I have coming.
The tools of the trade.





I used a sheet of 8ft by 4ft shuttering ply and treated roofing laths.





One of the sides 4ft by 2ft with the laths nailed on as a frame.





and now there are two.





The back and the front quickly added.

I'm told that quail tend to fly up and bash themselves on the wire, so all I have to do now , is to make a frame for a lid and use plastic netting rather than wire to staple onto the frame. This pen is for use indoors on concrete floors and I'll be using a layer of wood shavings. I know you can tell from the workmanship that it only took me about half an hour to knock together. : :oops:  :oops:  :oops:  

If the quail and I get on together, I can see me knocking up another couple of these at least. :-)

We've just made a new run for the Brahmas, I supervised whilst OH worked hard. I did make lots of cups of tea, and gave lots of advice which I don't think he really wanted!!

Thats very true Bodger, its a gift I have perfected over the years, much to OHs dismay.
