Keeping Strawberries Safe

Can you recommend any solutions for me for my strawberry bed to prevent birds and rabbits from eating them? If there is a particular type of polytunnel or netting solution you recommend I'd love to hear about places to buy and costs. My strawberry bed is approximately 5 x 15 or 16 ft.

Are they in the open or the polytunnel?

You may struggle more with rabbits, but an allotment plot neighbour has got some of that blue water pipe, stuck it into the ground as hoops across the bed (you can put short canes up the cut ends of the pipe, to make it easier to get the pipe in and more sturdy), and then cover it with wide netting or enviromesh type covering.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

you can also cover with debris netting.
whatever netting you use, please check at least once a day as birds and animals  can get trapped

keeping rabbits out well we had problems with badgers eating our sweetcorn so we put rabbit wire round the raised bed with strong wooded post's each corner leaving one end so we could open it and it did the trick

so you could put a rabbit wire fence round the strawberry bed the same as we did for the badgers  then cover the top with a bird proof net basically you need to be able to remove the net easy and open the end of the wire fence

we don't have a rabbit problem eating our strawberries just birds so we use a strong bird proof netting that can be removed easy for picking hope this reply gives you some idea to resolve your problem?

I would go for the blue pipe hoops but then I'd cover it with pond netting.  It is quite a bit stronger than yer usual netting and stake it well into the ground around the perifery ::)!.
Cheers,  Tony.
