Aldi Cold Frame (A bit flimsy)
« on: February 14, 2013, 14:26 »
I just spent £65 in Aldi on some gardening bits and i must say that the cold frames they are selling are a bit flimsy to say the least!

The actual frame itself is fine i guess but the plastic clips that hold it together dont hold it tight enough. Its a bit like stacking playing cards, one sneeze and its lying flat on the floor again!

I suppose its ok to buy if your fine with having to reinforce it with screws or some silicone sealant which is what im going to do but if your not too confident doing some home diy then i wouldnt recommend it.

I had one of these, which I screwed to blocks of wood held down with large tent pegs. It lasted three years and then fell apart.

Yep, im not expecting great things from it but after i drilled some pilot holes and screwed through those plastic clips its 100% better
