Title: Norlett 5000 rotavator
Post by: Riverdrifter on April 21, 2020, 16:55
Earlier in the year  i bought an old Norlett rotavator. It has worked fine until i changed to electronic ignition. Starts and engine runs fine however as soon as i pull on the clutch and start tilling the tines rotate then the engine stops. Is anyone able to throw some light on the problem. Also i have noticed that with engine running and tines off the ground and not touching the clutch the tines rotate slowly not sure if they should.

Hello it also a Flymo if the engines stalling when you pull the clutch in the belts probably to tight wrong size fitted they need about quarter to half inch movement if the rotas turn when machine lifted up and clutch engaged it's definitely to tight the clutch cable could be worn or wrongly adjusted,to check belt size measure be tween engine pulley centre and drive pulley centre e.g. 23 inch between centres double for a 46 inch inner circumference belt it an A section belt  jezza
