Carrot and fartichoke soup.

Well the fartichoke harvest happend on Monday, loads of the little fart bombs. So this year I wanted something good to eat, tried roasting chipping, mashing all sorts but came across this little recipe from Delia, not a great fan of hers but sounded ok and I had all the ingrediants needed, plus no buckets of cream like the others so low fat. Here is the link for said soup. After I made it I did some blind tasting with next door etc and out of 8 only one was not keen.

There are some more recipes on here which don't require lashings of cream.

Personally I think they are the devil's food, never to be grown again!

"When I lived in Nantwich I was surprised to discover this delightful vegetable. Tasty and nourishing. Can`t be beaten. It was great for this soup.

I have never been able to understand why this vegetable has been so totally ignored".

I rest my case, well tie it down. To be honest they don't affect me, I seem able to digest them it's sprouts thats the devils own spawn, and I love them to bits but boy do I get it from the wife for two days after, even been told to sleep in the back bedroom

But that was submitted by Wally, our friend who now lives in Japan!  Just coincidence that we now live in Nantwich!

Sprouts I love and they don't affect me or John at all. Unlike fartichokes!
Got some lovely purple sprouts to harvest.
