Got seven lovely spears and want to try little Florence on a few with her dinner but how do I cook them lol

I think I steamed them in the past buti have a brain blank.

Ps has to be a simple fuss free idea as Florence has severe food allergies to half the planet so this is a new food for her.

Steamed or boiled for a few minutes is good.  Fried or griddled in a little oil works very well.  I also like making little rafts out of four or five using a couple of tooth toothpicks (if you get what I mean) brushing with oil and bbq'ing.

Otherwise you can chop them up to use in pasta sauces, pie filling etc.

Or steamed lightly then griddled to put nice stripes on them. :) A bit of butter over the top to melt if Florence can have it. Or soup. :)

For her first time I just boiled for three minutes she ate the top two inches but the middle bit was a bit chewy lol  she tried it though which was a huge start

I'm sat watching telly and reading my favourite forum, whilst dipping crunchy asparagus spears (harvested 15 mins ago) in a mixture of melted butter and lemon juice. Fantastic, even if the juice does run up your arm, and guaranteed to appeal to children! :D
