Finished the last few bits on the shed although no form of handle or way of keeping the door shut was included which is annoying so will have to buy one. Then put all my stuff in the shed!

Picked loads and loads of red Toms, they are all turning red so quickly that I also picked enough green ones to do one batch of chutney just in case  Plenty of blackberries also picked so lots of things to get cooking this afternoon and tomorrow!

More clearing of completed space - this time where the summer broccoli has finished! So digging in the sunshine and collecting tomatoes from Nick - who has grown too many beefsteak plants!!

Picked a load of onions to dry and put the inaugural barrow of soil into the first (of many I hope!!) raised bed. Made me realise the size of the task!!!! Garlic has been rubbish this year :(

Strimmed 'extension' to my allotment and marked out beds with string. All ready to start digging!

Pulled the last of the spuds (convinced blight is on the way, as we've eventually got it every year so far).

Picked beans and toms, and admired the ridiculously large butternut and pumpkins that seem to be everywhere!

Re-did guttering on the shed, which took longer than I thought, added bits to the shed and painted it a bit more, pottered around the plot and dug a bed behind the shed for the quince tree and comfrey underplantings.

Managed to cover meself in fizzy chicken poo - note to self, DO NOT, under any circumstances, shake the bottle!! It smells worse than comfrey. And, for a while, so did I.

Dug over the old potato bed - again - found a few more spuds ::)
Planted winter tares (green manure) in their place. Never tried this before.

Weeded the parsnip bed and the carrot bed.
The parsnip bed is only half full so i've set up an old coldframe i've had knocking around for years in that half of the bed for a few winter crops.

Watered everything well - I haven't needed to give it a good soaking for ages!

Is it your first year too? It's mine, I still am amazed that I have actually succeeded in growing things  :) well done and I hope the sweetcorn tasted lovely :-)
My husband's a water sign, I'm an earth sign, together we make mud :-)

I collected some slabs from a friend, and as per my 'ouch' topic, dropped one on my finger so that ended any allotment activity for the day. Now plastered up and I am wondering if I can transplant the cabbages with one less working digit  :(.

Hubby gave the potato bed a going over and found a few we'd missed on the first go.
Whilst he did that, i had a mammoth watering session as we've had glorious sun the past 2 days.

Dug up another lot of potatoes. More courgettes (thoroughly sick of them) and lot of runner beans and the last few beetroot. Did some weeding as well.
