Title: moving raspberry canes
Post by: lottiegirl on August 28, 2013, 09:07
Hi, I want to move some raspberry canes from one allotment to mine. I have no idea if they are summer or autumn fruiting. When will be the best time to move them?

Many thanks

I'd say about October time once the leaves have fallen. This gives the roots a bit of time to establish in the warm soil before winter sets in.

Raspberries are so indestructible that they might not even notice when you are doing it.

That's good to hear - I have some that need to be moved at the end of the growing season too, and I was very nervous about killing them.
