onions wind damage

We had some very strong winds last week,and looking at the onoins they have been bent over down to the floor but are still green,will this ruin the crop for storing?,what do i do just let them die back naturally?,do i have to loosen the roots with a fork?any help would br great.Lillileaf

If the tops are green, inside the necks are green and they need to be dry to store well.  The bent leaves may slow or stop the onions growing any more, but you should be able to salvage the crop.

I would leave them alone and let the tops start drying off before loosening the roots.

They may have been ready to bend over anyway and the wind has just helped them. Leave them to ripen and die down naturally.
