We are coming up for our first year in our new home that had a small vegetable plot. I have about a dozen raspberry canes that fruited 6 weeks ago. I have noticed that on this years growth there are flowers and fruits appearing. Is this right that they fruit twice each year?
Looking forward to all your replies.

It can happen when the weather is unusual for that year. Happens to a lot of other fruits as well. Also possible that you have some everbearing raspberries among the crowd.

Autumn raspberries fruit from july to October, in flushes...and very nice they are too :)
In the winter cut them right back to a few inches above the soil, as all next year's fruit will be on canes that grow from soil level next spring. :)
