Title: Greenhouse staging
Post by: Jasper1 on February 14, 2015, 19:37
I am looking to purchase some greenhouse staging but I am not sure if I should get the slatted top or a aluminum raised edge top for pea gravel. I thought I might get the staging with removable slats and get removable aluminum or plastic gravel trays so I have the best of both worlds.

Any ideas

Mine has a solid top, I've laid capillary matting on it. In the past when I have had slatted I put a small pot down and its half-on and half-off and harder to get the pots at the tightest spacing that I want them.  If you are growing things that need good drainage I think gravel tray would be better than slatted - in terms of being able to put a pot exactly where you want it.  Good humidity from the water evaporating from the gravel bed too.
