depends which one has most of/all the varieties you want. T&M are my favourite, Suttons are good too, not much experience of the others, I used to get most if not all my veg seeds from Wilko, but their range seems to have shrunk a little of the last year or two, good for cheap basics tho'.

If you need some really expensive seed, get them online from T & M. If you spend a tenner you get the MOST expensive packet free. I ordered some priced at £6.99 & got them free.  

I can't remember which paper did it, WG will no doubt remind me, but in their trials T & M came out on top, but how extensive these trials were etc. is open to debate. T & M tend to be a bit more expensive.

For bog-standard seed, pop down to your local Wilco's.

I'd say all will do the job, T&M will be upmarket on the price.
Also depends, as Richy hints, what you are looking to buy.

I tend to get the bulk of my seed from Kings, good price and quality and quite a choice, too.

I'm glad you're gonna give it a go Babe, and I'm not even going to mention that sometimes French Beans are sometimes called Kenyan,or Green Beans, especially when you see them in the supermarket

well ive talked dad into doing tomatoes and cucumbers because he's done it before.

mums doing potatoes in bags???

so in my garden ive got my list down to

radish
carrot
lettuce
cabbage
corn on the cob
french bean
pea
sprout

ive got 16 x 40 ft and will only be having a small amount of each

have i choosed too much or is there something else i should have

I've noticed they are all in the singular.  I look forward to seeing your sprout.

Also you need to do a minumum of 16 corn on cob, I'd go for 36 (ie a whole pack) as they need to be planted in blocks for pollination not rows.

Runner beans ?

Radish can be grown as a " catch crop" between the rows and plants of the slower growing stuff, you could under plant the corn with cut and come again lettuce they will probably benifit from the shading, don't forget sweetcorn goes in blocks not rows to aid pollination.

Nah not really cabbage and sprouts would be my Achilles heel, never seem to get brassicas right  :roll:
