Moving an apple tree
« on: November 15, 2019, 14:40 »
I planted a cordon last year in the wrong place - it is far too shady etc.  Any advice on how to move it to my allotment?

Shouldn't be a problem. Wait until it's dormant, give it a really good soaking 3-4 days before you want to move it it soften the soil. Dig as big a ball around the roots as you can and transplant. You'll be surprised how little root there will be, especially on a more dwarfing rootstock. Water well in it's new location until it's established.
