Novice White Silkie Bantam
« on: April 28, 2011, 10:56 »
Went broody for the first time on 2 eggs 3 days ago.
I've been feeding and watering her on the nest as she refuses to move, but today she came out for a quick dustbath and then passed a huge poo measuring 9cm x 5cm.
Is this what broody hens do - 'huge and few'?
This is our first ever sitting hen.

huge and very smelly - perfectly normal for a broody. they hold on as long as possible so they can stay on the eggs and keep them warm  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.
