Does anyone know how 2 tell the difference between a male silkie to a female as it has neva laid an egg and it has tried to mate with the other hens but the guy i got them off said they where all hens so i thought maybe it converted as i have heard of tht happening to ppl on this site

the way to get difference from roosters  from hens is by the feathers on their neck. cocks come to a, point  point, hens is rounded off . or  pick the chicken up moving  ya hand from the breast towards the back, almost to the butt  area.the keel  bone tends to be sharper in a male and flatter in a female.  There's also thethe thigh feathers  most  hang off on either side of the male, towards the tail  for the head gear on chickens if u dont know all about the breed then dont bother cos they can all look the same
