runner beans - germination time?
« on: May 20, 2009, 15:43 »
It's been 10 days since I sowed my runner bean seeds (in pots, in my shed). No sign of seedlings yet. Is this normal?  How long does it normally take for them to germinate? I am new to all this (growing vegetables) so please excuse my ignorance.

Thanks

our cobra beans came in 11 days.

seeded them in compost mixed with sharp sand ,3"pots and only 1 inch deep,

wondering if you planted them too deep ,, better off in a greenhouse ,

we watered every 5 days

Mine took about 18 days, but sown in cells outside. The dwarf beans planted early April - again in cells outside - some are only just coming through, and the runners have already overtaken them
