Poppy has been on the eggs for 24 days, should I get her off them and de broody her and should I contact the egg seller?
Disappointed,  but at least she has done her bit.

i just had some hatch on day 24, are you able to see if any of the eggs have started pipping or hear anything from within?

seems very quiet. They are pekin bantam eggs so didn't know if the shells were thicker.

Hi, my pekins pipped on day 20 and hatched day 21-22. I had a further 7 eggs left. 1 was a pekin the other 6 were a mixed lot of larger breeds. On day 23 I candled them to see what was what. They were all duff. I opened them and they were all infertile.

I did receive the advice to wait as sometimes they can take a little longer which of course makes sense, and also that the hen will know which ones are duff, this was not the case for my hen, she was still sitting waiting lol! Could you candle them if you've not heard any pipping to give you more of an idea?

Another idea which is what I did last year when my hatch failed is I quickly sourced some 2 day old chicks for my broody to foster. I got 3 and a brooder lamp in case she didn't take to them. It was fine and this years broody foster mum to my pekins is one of last years fostered babies

Rang the guy  got them from today and he was surprised, but said if still none tomorrow to pop over and collect some from his incubator I just would like to see Poppy rosey around with chicks.

snap re hen pottering about and mothering her brood! I felt so sorry for her sitting and dutifully waiting then it not happening .... until the new 3 arrived. Only 1 survived mind  well worth it every minute. Good luck

Put 6 fresh 15 day old incubated eggs under her, due Sunday, can't wait
