im going to make a clamp 3'x6'x2'6'' deep wooden box and fill it with sand and what would be the best type of sand to use, has anybody here built or used one and did it get raided by vermin

sharp buildrs sand and then add straw on top ,i use peat in sacks for my carrots

no to vermin i bait poison

does the sand need to be damp munty? I wanted to put Brians beetroot in a box of sand as he prefers them just boiled, not pickled, but I asked for builders sand and he got kiln dried stuff. Talk about more money than sense!!!!

i much prefer old peat etc ,they dont dry out infact they start to green up a bit n stay plump

Get a box, fill it with sand, for what purpose, when and so force , etc. I do not seem to know what anybody is talking about. :shock: :shock:
