Ive done it many times, without, but during an antiseptic footbath. You chook really will need antibiotics though, and quickly. I bought a scalpel from the pharmacy. plucked up courage and off I went. It then had to be sprayed with antibiotic spray, as well as the chook having oral antibios.

I wish you the very best of luck!!

Good Luck, Dennis.  I would completely agree with Normandy Mary that you need to consider antibiotics asap.

only vets can issue a prescription for antibiotics.

where abouts are you? Any vet should be able to look up bumble foot and sort out the correct medication.

If your vet doesn't stock any suitable antibiotics they can always write you a prescription then you can get them ordered from a vet meds type website - it can work out cheaper too.

Good luck and I hope your chook is better soon.

:)no nothing on that list my daughter took her's to pet at home in stockport he gave her the antibiotic but he did't know a lot about poulty but it was reasonably priced

not used to taking chickens to the vet when i had them last it was about 30 years ago and you either got them better on your own or you dispatched them
i guess things hav changed over the last 30 years or so :)

:(its b/f 10 days of antibiotics i've got to keep the foot bandaged and dry then back to the vets in 10 days the good news was it wasn't so bad that it needed lancing but if that wasn't bad i'd hate to see a bad one this was my first time in seeing b/f in all the years of keeping chickens
so another 10 days in the kitchen for her
