I have just been given 3  New hens a little brown 1 and 2 nice black ones with white spots not sure on the breed? Anyway 1 of the black and white ones looks to have a large mass as a rear end sort of underneath the vent I am puzzled as to what it can be any ideas?

A mass? Do you mean a growth type of mass? Or a mass of something else? Like stuck poo or mites? A picture would help in you can manage to post one.

It's like looking at her rump if you know what I mean but it's underneath her vent.

Is it hard or soft? Does it feel fixed or is it moveable? How is she in her self? Any sign of illness? Can you ask the people you got her from if they have noticed anything odd?

Once the other hens notice it there is a good chance they will peck at it. This behaviour can very quickly get out of hand resulting in a potential bloodbath. You do need to find out what it is (tumour, prolapse etc) and this may mean a visit to the vet. If the people you had them from are knowledgeable it would be worth asking them. :)
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted!!

does she have a floppy comb? she could be an leghorn if she does. These lay white eggs.
