Hi All,
One of my chickens (Tuppence) has just come out of being broody. Although no eggs again yet. (It has been over a1 month). She looks like she is losing her feathers could this be an early moult. I have 3 RIR they are 7 months old, I am not sure as one of the others are broody at the moment and also losing feathers, but she is definitely getting featherless round the neck area.
I am new to chicken keeping I have had them since the end of May and seeing all these feathers in their run every morning I am thinking am I doing something wrong.
Help please

mine look like they have been having a pillow fight every night - their coops are full of feathers - still better now than in the middle of winter which is when mine moulted last year ::)

Hi Joyfull
Thanks, I thought that they had to be a year old before moulting starts.

no minimum age for moults, one of mine had three moults before she was one!
