Title: First Eggs
Post by: wildfowler4 on March 22, 2011, 19:01
Hi,

Our three Cream Crested Legbars started laying Saturday just gone. They were exactly 24 weeks old. Not sure if each of them has laid but we have had five to date including one soft shelled . We found we had quite an excess of eggs already with our RIR and Leghorn which have laid every day since we got them on new years day even though we do consume quite a few ourselves. Granny is delighted as she is getting a regular supply of eggs and also really enjoys coming around looking at the chicks as it reminds of when she was young back in the 1930's when  they kept chickens in their back yard.

There's nothing to compare with your own fresh eggs from your own hens :D
