Have your chickens started laying yet?
« on: February 10, 2024, 15:13 »
Mine are bantams rather than hybrid layers and so take some time off over winter.  Today they were making a fuss and I assumed there was a cat in the garden.

After stomping out there and discovering these,  I had to stop muttering ‘darn chickens’ under my breath and go fetch them the afternoon snack of corn they were demanding

My 3 new ones(October) have laid all winter, the 3 ‘Old’ ones haven’t laid since last winter  even though they were new in October ‘21 . Must have been the most expensive eggs I’ve ever bought!
