I have one or two bottles of mead I made in 2009 lined up for my Yule feast on Wednesday, but it occurred to me that I don't know the correct 'receptacle' to drink it out of!
Ideas please?

I'd go for the largest one possible, but not so large that it makes you feel sick as mead can be a bit sweet can't it

"A small flute or snifter are the typical serving vessels. No more than 5 ounces or actual mead is the average serving size.

Though I have heard of it being served in small mugs... Over kill if you ask me. Mead is far to sweet to drink more than a few ounces at a time."

My mead is dry and quite potent, which I suppose isn't traditional!

Just come off the lathe in the shed after making a couple of 'Cup and Ball'  games from an apple tree brach we had to 'trim',  for Grandson and Grandnephew.   Sad to say now one of my balls has started cracking !   Cheers,   Tony.

Would have thought a sherry type glass (Whatever they are) would be fine.
Basically any glass that isn't too brutish. Less then half pint.
Failing that a good grip on the bottle neck.

Have DJ of mead on the go at the moment, should be good for 18%+.

It isn't going to be sweet.

When I said 'sherry glass' I meant the sort of 'copita' that they use to serve dry fino sherry in Jerez. It's a sort of long glass that narrows towards the top. Failing that I'd use a champagne 'flute' glass.

If mead wine then a wine glass of some/any sort.
If mead ale then an ale glass or tankard of whatever sort comes to hand.
