I'm not having a good week!
« on: March 25, 2007, 19:30 »
some of you will already know that I lost one of my chooks this week, and a while ago one of my hens started crowing, well, it got worse, and I feel so bad. I couldn't bear to see the "real" cockerel keep attacking the other hen, and I never really wanted any cockerels at all anyway, so I took both of them back to the bloke I got them from, (bear in mind here that I am a vegetarian and an animal lover, with quite strong views), anyway, he took them off of me, and I hadn't even turned my back before he wrung their necks! I couldn't believe it! fair enough, if he's going to do that; people have to eat, but did he have to do it in front of me when he knows how I feel? I am devastated! I feel like the worst person in the world at the moment, in a week 3 chooks have died cos of me! sorry to sound off but I needed to get it off my chest, anyway I'm going to go and ask forgiveness from the chicken god

I know, it's just been a bit rougher than I expected. I know I'm a sentimental fool; but that was just a bit tooo much today; but never mind, pick the bottom lip up off the floor and get on with it :)

So sorry about your chooks. I haven't had mine long, but you get very attached to them. I would also be devastated if anything happened. Keep your chin up Purplebat.

Kerry. :)

I think that man was just showing of my hubby trained as a butcher
so is more than capable of things like that but would not dream of doing it infront of anybody as some people are really sensative and he would not like to hurt there feelings

exactly, that was how I felt; my hubby reckons it was him acting hard, but he also thought it might be cos he was pee'd off because I took them back  :?
