when your done with them this year .cut the dead wood off and store in a cool shed in compost, just cover the roots  check monthly for any rot ,,, cut any of the tuber and smear vasaline over the wound,then when your ready to plant out in may fill the ( when new shoots appear ) hole with really good rotted manure,bit of soil on top then put the crown in ... cover it to the depth of about 3 inches with a small amount of sand  mixed in the remaining soil around it ......stake to show where it is then stake to stop them toppling over in the wind  :wink:  when the flowers come to bud put a small amount sulphate of ammonia ( table spoon)in a gallon water n then feed this till end july .then let them be  :wink:
