cleaning out the freezer
« on: January 03, 2023, 15:06 »
we sorted some of our old veg that had been in the freezers for some time yesterday and I'm not sure about disposing of the old veg when its thawed can you empty it in the compost bin to rot down and make compost to back on the garden or allotments or would this attract vermin so basically what's the best way of disposing this ?

Compost it for sure, no different to green waste from the plot.

We use a hotbin which doesn't suffer rats but escaped frozen veg tends to get transformed into eggs :)
