I bought a pack of sweet peppers and a pack of Lollo Rosso lettuce. Bargain.

Those 'tiny greenhouses' they use for packaging are fab for starting seedlings off Fatcat (especially lettuce). I just replace the gel with some fine water absorbing crystals. :)

I have had some of these for years --- they are excellent
Just a word of caution about the tomato plants for sale this year: the plants are stacked outside during the day at our local Aldi and some are literally blue with cold.
If the leaves are not a decent green, then do not buy them, as they really will take ages to recover
The caulis will relish this of course :nowink:

Is the deal still available now?
Does it run for a week usually?
-
Aldi deals run until they run out of stock in the store.

They still had plenty left in our local one on Friday, and they were very healthy.
I bought 24 :)
Good luck.
-
Loads left at our Aldi too. I bought 30 plants of strawberrys lol.
-
Lidl has some very reasonable stuff at the moment too, including fruit canes, netting, organic plant food, etc, as well as very reasonable grass seed, for anyone with a tired lawn!
-
friend told me in work today strawberry plants were looking very sorry for themselves, have to check them out tuesday as she,s not a veg/fruit grower.
-
It probably depends on how the stores are looking after them.
We are in the South where it's not been snowing for a while.
If they have been kept outside in the freezing wind with no shelter they may not fair too well.....

Went to my local store today, loads of plants beyond help, yet still for sale
Spider :nowink:
