Gooseberries 2

Can anyone advise why a gooseberry bush I've had for several years no longer flowers or produces fruit? I'll be honest I've never pruned it, but its quite small anyway maybe less than 2' high. If I prune it will it respond does anyone know or is it lacking some specific fertilizer to spur it on?

Gooseberries do need regular pruning to stimulate new growth as well as fruit. And they do need some regular feeding, mostly some old manure and a bit of bonemeal. Check this site for pruning tips:

Thanks - guess I'll have start snipping at it later this year - although it did have a goodly dose of muck to try to kick start it :D
